If you want to make changes to the layout and style of your WordPress website, then I will suggest you to install Elementor page builder plugin. It has a free version and you can install some free add-on plugins to add more features.
The basic free Gutenberg uses Block system. So you can add blocks to the page or posts such as text, image, video, columns etc. However, you can NOT create different sections on a single page with different style and color. It is difficult to use different layouts in a single page.
For this you can better install one of the Free WordPress page builder plugins.
Which page builder plugin is good?
There are many page builder plugins with free version. For added features, you can go for Premium version of these plugins. I really like to following plugins.
- Elementor
- Visual composer
Both these plugins are good and you can actually see the changes that you can make to the pages while editing the page.
How to install Elementor Page builder plugin?
This is widely used free plugin.
- Login to the WordPress website dashboard.
- Go to plugins and click on Add New.
- Search for Elementor.
- You will see the free version of Elementor plugin.
- Click on Install.
- Once installed, click on activate.
- That’s it plugin is ready to use.
- Now go to pages. Click Edit on any page that you want to edit.
- On the edit page, you will see the option, Edit with elementor.
- Click on it and start building your webpage using Elementor plugin.
How to install Visual composer plugin?
Go to Google website and search for “Visual Composer”. You will see the website Visualcomposer.com, click on it. On their website, you will see the option Free Download. Click on it and download the plugin on your computer.
- Login to WordPress website dashboard.
- Go to plugin and click on Add New.
- Click on Upload button and browse the plugin file that you have downloaded from the website.
- Click install.
- One installed, activate the plugin.
- When you edit the page, you will see the Visual composer option at the top. You can start editing the page now.
